TOUR Championship Charity Showcase adds $750,000 in support of East Lake Foundation

Aaron Murray, Victor Cruz, Alexis Belton headline exhibition at East Lake Golf Club

ATLANTA – With less than a month until the PGA TOUR’s 30 best golfers return to historic East Lake Golf Club for the TOUR Championship from Aug. 23-27, the tournament today raised more than $750,000 through the TOUR Championship Charity Showcase, a charity exhibition supported by TOUR Championship Proud Partner The Coca-Cola Company and other local businesses to generate additional funds for the East Lake Foundation.

Those competing in the TOUR Championship Charity Showcase included former University of Georgia quarterback Aaron Murray, former NFL wide receiver Victor Cruz and World Long Drive competitor Alexis Belton. During the round, the trio was greeted at the 15th tee by members of local HBCU golf teams, who were invited to show off their talent and take swings of their own at the signature par 3.

Other Atlanta companies who supported the TOUR Championship Charity Showcase include Chick-fil-A, Cisco, NielsenIQ, and Novelis.

“We are always looking for opportunities to grow the investment in our community, and it’s thanks to The Coca-Cola Company and other Atlanta-based companies that we were able to make an additional donation to the East Lake Foundation through today’s Charity Showcase,” said TOUR Championship Executive Director Alex Urban. “This tournament has become a vehicle for positive change in East Lake and beyond, and we are grateful to be able to use the platform of this historic venue and this elite tournament to make an impact.”

The Coca-Cola Company was instrumental in the creation of the TOUR Championship Charity Showcase, which was established in 2020 as a means to raise additional funds for the East Lake Foundation and the TOUR Championship’s other charitable partners to combat the challenges brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The Charity Showcase demonstrates our company’s commitment to strengthening the communities we serve,” said John Murphy, President and Chief Financial Officer of The Coca-Cola Company. “Thanks to the contributions from fellow corporate partners, the funds raised from the Charity Showcase build upon the legacy of East Lake Foundation founders, Tom and Ann Cousins and reinforce our shared commitment to create positive change in our hometown of Atlanta.”
