ATLANTA – With his victory at the Masters Tournament for his second career major championship title and third win of the 2024 season, Scottie Scheffler earned 750 FedExCup points to increase his lead in the FedExCup standings to 1,660 points over Wyndham Clark, who sits second in the standings. World No. 1 Scheffler will make his fifth consecutive trip to the TOUR Championship, Aug. 28 – Sept. 1, as he seeks his first-ever FedExCup title.

The TOUR Championship is the culmination of the PGA TOUR season and the FedExCup Playoffs where the TOUR’s top 30 global starts compete for the FedExCup and an $18 million bonus.

Scheffler opened the 2024 season with four top-10 finishes in five starts before he earned back-to-back wins in as many weeks at the Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by Mastercard and THE PLAYERS Championship. Following a T2 finish at the Texas Children’s Houston Open, the 27-year-old earned his ninth career TOUR victory at Augusta National Golf Club.

Scheffler became the second player to win THE PLAYERS Championship and the Masters Tournament in the same year (Tiger Woods, 2001) and the fourth youngest player to win the Masters multiple times (Jack Nicklaus, Woods, Seve Ballesteros). His four-stroke victory came in his fifth career appearance.

At the TOUR Championship, Scheffler is coming off a T6 finish in 2023 after earning two victories during the 2022-23 season (WM Phoenix Open, THE PLAYERS Championship). Based on the FedExCup Starting Strokes format, Scheffler became the first player to enter the TOUR Championship with the lead in the FedExCup two years in a row (2022 and 2023). In four previous starts at East Lake Golf Club, Scheffler has two career top-five finishes in the season-long race, including a T2 finish to Rory McIlroy in 2022.
