FedExCup Update: FedExCup Playoffs begin this week

PGA TOUR’s top 30 players return to TOUR Championship at East Lake Golf Club, August 20-24

ATLANTA – The PGA TOUR Regular Season ended on Sunday with Cameron Young securing his long-awaited maiden TOUR victory at the Wyndham Championship. Only the TOUR’s top 70 players move on to the FedExCup Playoffs, which begin this week at the FedEx St. Jude Championship in Memphis, Tennessee. The top 50 will move on to the BMW Championship at Caves Valley Golf Club in Maryland before the final 30 earn their trip to historic East Lake Golf Club and the TOUR Championship, August 20-24.

Reigning FedExCup Champion and World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler claims the No. 1 spot in the standings going into the Playoffs for the third time in four seasons. The 29-year-old won four events during the 2025 TOUR campaign, including his hometown event, THE CJ CUP Byron Nelson, a successful title defense at the Memorial Tournament presented by Workday, as well as major victories at the PGA Championship in May and last month at The Open Championship.

Scheffler is trailed by three-time FedExCup Champion Rory McIlroy (No. 2) and four-time PGA TOUR winner and University of Georgia graduate Sepp Straka (No. 3). Among the top 30 looking to maintain their positions over the first two weeks of the Playoffs include UGA products Russell Henley (No. 4), Harris English (No. 7), Brian Harman (No. 20) and Chris Kirk (No. 61).

The TOUR Championship returns to its regular spot on the August calendar ahead of college football kick-off weekend. From August 20-24, witness the PGA TOUR’s top 30 players compete in the FedExCup Playoffs finale for their chance to be crowned the 2025 FedExCup Champion.
